Mission
Our client required a versatile venue that was suitable for a variety of requirements including a morning meeting, outdoor activity, private evening dining and most importantly, had wow factor!
The group of 18 delegates were to be hosted in Scotland though didn't wish to be in a city centre; wanting to enjoy some of the beautiful Scottish countryside and take their guests out of a straight corporate environment instead. As well as an inspiring meeting room, we also were providing an afternoon of clay pigeon shooting and a murder mystery event during their dinner so needed to bear in mind specific requirements and licenses for these. Finally, the guests required overnight accommodation and prioritised above all other aspects of their brief that the venue needed to feel special and sumptuous, whilst remaining within a 4* budget.
Accomplished
We proposed the historic and idyllic 19th century Drumtochty Castle. Set in the beautiful countryside of Aberdeen, it is far from the hustle and bustle of the city and is an impressive and stately venue that's size gives it a very exclusive feel for groups. The main function rooms have grand high ceilings and original features which matched the client's request of steering clear of a stale conference venue perfectly. The outdoor grounds have unrivalled scenery and its estate is perfect for a traditional clay pigeon shoot, complete with the necessary licenses for hosting this kind of event. The setting was also perfect for hosting a bespoke murder mystery as the quirky and spooky elements of the castle provided ample inspiration for our creative team to concoct a unique storyline, just for the group. Lastly, the castle has 22 individually appointed bedrooms, all very spacious and elegantly decorated. We secured a 27% saving for our client at this venue; negotiating on room hire rates, food and beverage and the accommodation on their behalf.
